As a Security Officer - Cruise Terminal Screener PT in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Cruise Ops, and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal, you will play a key role in helping to create a secure environment for cruise operations by monitoring and patrolling designated areas. You will interact with guests and staff, conduct routine patrols, and provide support at screening checkpoints. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients and guests by carrying out security-related screening procedures and adhering to site-specific policies, including emergency response activities as appropriate.
  • Conduct screening of individuals, baggage, and belongings at embarkation and debarkation points to help to deter prohibited items from entering the cruise operations location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points to help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas within the cruise operations environment.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established protocols.
  • Collaborate with cruise operations staff and law enforcement as needed to address security-related concerns and maintain order.
  • Document and report security-related incidents, irregularities, and suspicious activities in accordance with Allied Universal and client procedures.
  • Provide information and assistance to passengers, crew, and visitors as required while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Possess a valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) issued by the TSA.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
