Job Description




As a Security Officer - Campus Patrol in Saint Paul, MN, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Education, and more. As an unarmed patrol officer with Allied Universal in an educational setting, you will actively monitor and patrol assigned areas to help create a secure atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors. Your visible presence will help to deter security-related incidents while you deliver outstanding customer service and clear communication. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to clients, students, staff, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, and when appropriate, participating in emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations on campus in a calm, problem-solving manner, following appropriate protocols.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols within campus buildings and around the perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and/or suspicious behavior. Working environments and conditions may vary by location.
  • Observe and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual circumstances encountered during patrols or while on post.
  • Maintain a visible presence on campus to help to deter potential disruptive activity and/or unwanted behavior.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with campus personnel, students, and Allied Universal management regarding security-related matters.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and/or baton is preferred.
  • Alarm panel experience is preferred.
  • Baton certification is preferred.
  • Pepper spray certification is preferred.
  • Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
