Job Description




As a Security Officer - Hospital Patient Patrol in Monroeville, PA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal in a healthcare environment, you will monitor and patrol assigned hospital areas, helping to deter security-related incidents and fostering a welcoming atmosphere for patients, visitors, and staff. You will perform routine patrols, remain visible throughout the location, and respond to situations with professionalism, empathy, and exceptional customer service. What You'll Do:

  • Provide excellent customer service to all individuals at the healthcare location by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities as directed by Allied Universal.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations within the healthcare environment in a calm and problem-solving manner, assisting staff, visitors, and patients as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and to observe for potential security-related concerns.
  • Monitor access points and assist with visitor and/or staff entry, following established procedures to help to deter unauthorized access.
  • Document and report all security-related incidents, observations, and/or unusual circumstances in accordance with site policies and Allied Universal guidelines.
  • Assist in emergency situations by guiding occupants to designated areas and coordinating with healthcare staff and first responders as directed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants must be willing and able to receive required vaccines for hospital environments.
  • Applicants may be required to work in or around hospital morgue areas.
  • Applicants must be able to assist with the restraint of individuals in a hospital setting as needed.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
