Position Summary The Facilities Drafter will support the maintenance and operations team by creating, updating, and maintaining accurate layout drawings for production facilities, equipment, and infrastructure. This role ensures that all layout projects are documented and aligned with operational requirements, safety standards, and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain CAD drawings for plant layouts, equipment placement, and utility systems.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to gather requirements and ensure accurate representation of physical spaces.
- Update existing layouts to reflect changes in equipment, workflow, or facility modifications.
- Assist in planning and visualization of maintenance projects, including space utilization and workflow optimization.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards in all drawings and documentation.
- Maintain organized records of all CAD files and revisions for future reference.
- Provide technical support during installation or relocation of equipment by supplying accurate layout documentation.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to plant layout and operational efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Education:Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, CAD Design, or related field.
- Experience:
- Experience supporting facilities layout and design preferred
- Ideally 3+ years of experience CAD drafting within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Proficient in AutoCAD with Experience with 3D modeling or advanced CAD tools preferred.
- Knowledge of industrial equipment, maintenance workflows, and production processes.
- Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings.
- Ability to interpret engineering and architectural plans.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily office-based with regular visits to production areas for measurements and verification.
- Requires adherence to safety protocols when working in operational environments.

Pay Transparency
nVent's pay scale is based on the expected range of base pay for this job and the employee's work location. Employee pay within this range will be based on a combination of factors including knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, education, and performance. Where federal, state, or local minimum wage requirements exist, employee pay will comply.
Compensation Range: $23.90 - $44.40 Per Hour
