Location:This position is a hybrid role based out of HQ Bowie, Maryland office. The current expectation is that we are in office two days each week (Tuesday-Wed), with extra additional days as required during the month.

Overview: The Senior Market Researcher will design, execute and analyze primary quantitative and qualitative research on customers, products, markets and competitors to inform Inovalon decisions about growth opportunities and competitive positioning. Recommends strategic and/or tactical actions based on research results. May supervise the work of other research consultants, analysts or vendors who may be assisting on projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Work cross-functionally to manage all aspects of research projects within the Market and Competitive Intelligence Research Program to better understand and improve the company's competitive position.
  • Manage product-specific research programs to achieve continuous incremental improvement.
  • Support Inovalon departments to define research project scope and recommend best methodologies and questionnaire/interview guide design based on business and research objectives.
  • Resourcefully collect and analyze secondary and primary research data that support market/competitive opportunity, market trend, and competitive landscape assessment. Includes online surveys, conducting and analyzing in-depth interviews and/or utilizing competitive intelligence tools.
  • Distill and synthesize conclusions and communicate them clearly, accurately, and compellingly in PowerPoint presentations.
  • Proactively recommend research process improvements to increase efficiency and consistency of the Research and Competitive Insights function.
  • Maintain compliance with Inovalon's policies, procedures, and mission statement.
  • Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within Inovalon's Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position.
  • Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by Inovalon for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of the Company.


Job Requirements:



  • Minimum of 5-7 years of previous work experience in a Market Research or Competitive Intelligence role involving hands-on project work. Combination of corporate and vendor/ consulting side experience a plus.
  • Proven track record designing qualitative and quantitative research.
  • Previous experience and familiarity with quantitative and qualitative market research methodology, including questionnaire design, in-depth telephone interviewing, customer experience programs, win/loss studies and statistical analysis.
  • Exceptional analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working with cross functional staff, management, and senior executives.
  • Must be proficient at data analysis.
  • Previous research experience in healthcare or healthcare technology preferred.
  • A team player with a positive, 'can-do' attitude who brings creative thinking and high energy.
  • Facility/familiarity with SPSS, Q and online survey programming required.


Education:



  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in Business, Statistics/Analytics, Marketing or related field. A Master's degree is a plus.


Physical Demands and Work Environment:



  • Sedentary work (i.e., sitting for long periods of time).
  • Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions.
  • Subject to inside environmental conditions.
  • Travel for this position will include less than 5% if necessary.

Inovalon Offers a Competitive Salary and Benefits Package

In addition to the base compensation, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity. At Inovalon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Base Compensation Range
$95,800 $119,700 USD
