Reporting to Manger Quality / Reliability, the Quality Technician's primary duty is working with moderate supervision to ensure Quality Engineering team's lab functions are adequately supported. This includes hands-on evaluation of returned tools/batteries for functionality diagnosis, teardown and disassembly of tools/batteries to support root cause analysis, creation/submission of lab and extra measures testing, and coordination of samplings, shipments, and product inventory in the lab.

The fast-paced environment allows the opportunity to implement new, innovative solutions both within the quality team and company-wide. As part of working for Milwaukee Tool, you will assist in the evaluation of a wide range of products which deliver unique solutions to our end-users.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on functionality checks of tools/batteries in various applications, including data collection, documentation storage of photos/results, and reporting summarized results to engineering.

  • Perform teardown and disassembly of tools/batteries with focus on mechanical, electrical, firmware functionality to support engineering team in root cause analysis.

  • Compile and support creation of report out of summarized findings of failed tools/batteries with engineering.

  • Prepare samples for failure analysis under direction of quality engineering team.

  • Create requests and coordinate shipment of materials/products/samples.

  • Create requests and track testing of materials/products/samples.

  • Follow work instructions for testing, sampling, sorting, and reworking products.

  • Follow electrical and general lab safety best practices.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree in electrical technology, manufacturing, engineering, or similar field preferred (not required).

  • Entry level to 2+ years' experience in related field

  • Ability to work unsupervised and follow work instructions

  • Written and verbal communication skills and creative problem-solving capabilities

  • Previous exposure in manufacturing or lab setting preferred

  • Experience and knowledge using power tools is preferred
