The salary range for this role, based in California, is $194,400.00 to $243,000.00. The range may vary if the role outside of this location. Base salaries are determined during our interview process, by assessing a candidate'sexperience, skills against internal peers and against the scope and responsibilities of the position.

Position Summary:

The Area Vice President plays an important role in our mission to drive the success of our complete portfolio across our entire customer base.

The Area Vice President (AVP) is a strategic leader responsible for driving growth across a large, complex revenue territory spanning California and Hawaii. This role oversees a high-performing team of 30+ professionals and partners cross-functionally to deliver market-leading results across a diverse channel mix, including national chains and independent accounts. The AVP will set the vision, manage P&L, and lead transformational initiatives to accelerate growth and beat the market. This role is highly coordinated and influential with its distributor counterparts, as well as its internal stakeholders across Chains, Field Marketing, Finance, and Commercial Operations.

Major Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

  • Set and drive Area strategy against all brands and channels for PR USA's complete portfolio, to drive volume, NNS and category market share.

  • Manage assigned markets' P&L to deliver profit target for Area.

  • Monitor performance KPIs including volume, distribution, pricing, shelf space, and promotional ROI; adjust strategies accordingly.

  • Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with PRUSA & Distributor regional & state leadership and key customer decision makers.

  • Align Distributors to PR USA strategies and goals. Ensure clear performance management quotas and incentives are in place to motivate and drive Distributor partners to deliver high performance.

  • Conduct "work withs" with distributor and PR USA field and customer success team to ensure compliance and keep abreast of distributor practices and customer trends.

  • Ensure data-driven decision making in designated Area through the utilization of data dashboards. Effectively utilize the data to monitor compliance and progress against goals, as well as consistent communication.

  • Drive Area forecasting accuracy and in close coordination with Commercial Planning and Operations, S&OP, Finance, and State Directors/Managers.

  • Partner with DVP, Finance, RGM and Region Chains Director to influence and align pricing strategies and promotional activities for channel/accounts across the region

  • Ensure there is a balance between Chains and non-Chains resourcing, allocations, and growth plans; support national chains team to maintain positive relationships with chain accounts in assigned region to optimize business performance.

  • Leads and develops a high-performing team of 30+ professionals across varying channels & territories.

  • Set consistent performance standards to drive PR USA beating the market and promote the consistent use of management dashboards to drive business decisions and monitor compliance / progress against goals.

  • Increase performance impact through clear, strategically aligned objectives and key results (OKRs). Ensure OKRs are meaningfully and effectively prioritized and cascaded throughout the team.

  • Conduct quality performance huddles, occurring monthly, with direct reports that focus on goal planning and tracking, employee development, and two-way feedback.

  • Reinforce ethical operations across the team to ensure operation within full legal compliance with state and local regulations.

  • Build a culture of inclusivity, performance excellence, coaching, and succession planning to develop future leaders.

Key Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • Minimum 10-15+ years of experience in beverage alcohol sales, with at least 5 years focused on chain accounts.

  • Experience working with major chain accounts such as Kroger, Safeway, Costco, Total Wine & More, or regional liquor chains.

  • Distributor management experience

  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing large high performing teams

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Operations to drive integrated business strategies.

  • Strong negotiation skills and experience crafting and executing AOPs (Annual Operating Plans) & managing P&L responsibilities

  • Deep understanding of the regional retail landscape and distributor network.

  • Proficient in data analysis & insights tools.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be willing to travel extensively within the state/region (estimated 40-50% of the time)
