DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will perform entry-level paraprofessional HR duties, including helping with new employee onboarding and coordinating required physicals, tests, and other initial orientation requirements. You will maintain electronic personnel files for both new and current employees and remove documents from storage in accordance with policy for employees who transfer, separate, or retire. Responsibilities include inputting workers' compensation claims and ensuring that they are processed and complete. You will keep manuals, directives, and publications up to date by adding, removing, and revising materials. Additionally, you will prepare payroll-based journal reports and track employee performance reviews. In this role, you will greet visitors, identify their needs, answer inquiries, and furnish applicants forms. All work is carried out in compliance with DMVA safety rules, policies, and procedures.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 7.5 hours per day, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of clerical or other comparable experience which involved obtaining, providing, and evaluating information in accordance with established standards; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
