SUMMARY

Reporting to the JHCH Education Supervisor, the Home Medical Equipment (HME) and Distribution Trainer serves a key training function for the Home Medical Equipment (HME) and Distribution teams by developing educational materials, delivering instructional sessions, both instructor-led and virtual, and tracking completion to support new and current employee business needs.

Hours: Full Time, 40 Hours Per week

Shift: Monday-Friday; 8:00am-4:30pm

Location: Baltimore, MD



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Acclimates new employees to the department
  • Develops, coordinates and executes training associated with the implementation of workflows, new products and service lines
  • Assists with the implementation of training programs that connect employee with business goals
  • Identifies and supports subject matter experts (SME) in developing individual teaching skills


  • Monitors and tracks departmental training completion


QUALIFICATIONS



Education:



  • Associate degree and/or a professional certification(s) in Adult Learning or Healthcare Equivalent certification, along with related experience is preferred.
  • Other professional certification(s) and/or related experience beyond minimum training may substitute for formal education on a two years' experience for one year education basis.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Highly effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relations that foster optimal quality teamwork and education
  • Knowledge and application of adult learning principles
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Understanding of how to operate general office and communications equipment, including personal computers and audiovisual equipment
  • Possess the ability to coach, influence, facilitate, present, communicate, process development, analyze and problem solve
  • Ability to incorporate policies, procedures, and specific business process needs into training. Ability to utilize multimedia technology and authoring tools
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently to execute training deliverables.
  • Critical thinking and strong analytical skills to support education.
  • Personal attributes of patience and professionalism; must be able to relate and encourage trainees without intimidating them
  • Strong time management skills to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to present complex information, using language and analogies appropriate to the audience
  • Experience in adult education/training in the healthcare industry preferred
  • Experience in HME/DME clinical workflows, inventory management processes and related software (i.e., Brightree, Apacheta) preferred.



Required Licensure, Certification, On-going Training:



  • Associate degree or a professional certification(s) in Adult Learning or Healthcare Equivalent certification, along with related experience is preferred.
  • Valid State Driver's License required
  • Proof of Automotive Insurance required



Work Experience:



  • Minimum of 1-3 years of prior experience in adult education/training or healthcare operations is preferred
  • HME experience is preferred.




Salary Range: Minimum 23.96/hour - Maximum 39.57/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
