Essential Functions

Performs all essential functions of the Relationship Banker I & II job.

Proactively identifies opportunities to deepen relationships with existing and prospective business clients by understanding their operational needs, financial goals, and industry challenges.

Recognizes and facilitates cross-selling opportunities for new and existing customers.

Calls on potential or existing customers to develop new business by promoting services and products, with the goal of expanding relationships.

Ensures a seamless, professional onboarding of new business clients and supports long-term retention.

Builds strong relationships with customers through consistent follow-up and high-touch service.

Coaches, mentors, and supports less experienced bankers in developing consultative sales skills, relationship building techniques, and product knowledge.

Supports other bankers with trouble shooting and escalated online chat inquiries, requests, escalated issues, and fraud resolutions.

Supports commercial business customers with their Treasury Management escalated issues.

Identifies workflow inefficiencies in the department and works with management to develop a solution.

Supports the department by assisting with designated projects, procedural reviews.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and phones.

Physical Demands

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

May need to stand for long periods of time.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., Saturday 7:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m.

Travel

This position may require travel to other branches. This role does not require off-site travel.

Required Education and Experience

Minimum of 5 years of relationship banking experience.

High School education or GED.

Experience working with small businesses or commercial clients, including the ability to assess business needs and recommend appropriate banking solutions.

Ability to grow business relationships through consultative conversations.

Experience generating high-quality referrals.

Ability to build long-term relationships with customers through trust.

Experience using a CRM tool to manage follow-up, referral pipeline, and business outreach activities.

Proven track record of being the subject matter expert on banking products and services.

Proven track record of successfully managing escalated issues.

Proficient with resolving escalated issues regarding fraud mitigation and cash management customers.

Demonstrated leadership skills.

Demonstrated training skills.

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization.

Ability to work independently and work collaboratively with a team to achieve goals.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent time management skills.

Models positive and supportive behavior.

Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening and weekends.
