Overview

Selective Insurance is recruiting for a Talent Development Partner to join our organization. The Talent Development Partner serves as an internal consultant and strategic advisor, driving organizational effectiveness and fostering a culture of high performance. This role designs and implements talent strategies and solutions to leadership, team, and individuals aligned with workforce planning and business objectives. The position collaborates across HR and business functions to deliver impactful solutions that enhance leadership capability, employee experience, and organizational agility as well as drive performance.

This position will be located in our future Short Hills, N.J. location. Until the new Short Hills headquarters is operational, the successful candidate will be offered the ability to work in our Branchville, N.J. location during the interim.


Responsibilities

  • Consultation & Guidance: Provides expert consultation on strategies that increase organizational effectiveness, including goal setting, performance management, succession planning, organizational capabilities, and workforce planning.
  • Leadership & Team Development: Designs and implements leadership, team, and individual development strategies aligned with business objectives; facilitates intact workshops and consults with leaders on team building, group process, and meeting facilitation.
  • Organizational Design & Change Management: Advises on organizational diagnosis and design-covering structure, processes, and work design-and leads change management initiatives to support transformation and growth.
  • Workforce Planning Support: Utilizes strategic workforce planning models; partners with HR Business Partners and stakeholders to analyze gaps, identify root causes, and build interventions to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Organization Development Solutions: Develops and delivers interventions to improve team performance, employee engagement, culture change, and overall organizational effectiveness.
  • Leadership Development Alignment: Leverages data and business insights to inform leadership development needs; supports the design and implementation of leadership programs, including Leadership University and manager capability training.
  • Measurement & Analytics: Identifies and tracks key metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of leadership development initiatives and ensure alignment with Talent Management strategies.
  • Assessment Management: Oversees talent assessment activities, including multi-rater feedback, competency models, and leadership assessments.
  • Collaboration & Integration: Partners with HR and business leaders to integrate leadership development programs into business functions; promotes a culture of learning and continuous development.
  • Vendor Management: Manages external vendors and consulting partnerships to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business needs.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Requirements

  • Familiarity with diagnostic instruments and tools used to support leadership development and talent.
  • Ability to closely collaborate within the team and with the business, and to be seen as talent Subject Matter Expert for assigned client.
  • Build effective relationships at all levels within the organization.
  • Strong analytical skills with an emphasis on interpreting and synthesizing data.
  • Demonstrated program management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently or with teams.
  • Solid presentation and facilitation skills.
  • Strong MS Office skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel).
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems and Success Factors is a plus.

Education and Experience

  • College degree in organizational development, leadership or related discipline preferred; 5+ years of related experience preferred.

The actual base salary is based on geographic location, and the range is representative of salaries for this role throughout Selective's footprint. Additional considerations include relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, performance, and business needs.

USD $92,000.00 - USD $127,000.00 /Yr.
