Are you our next Business Controller?

The Business Controller will oversee all financial management activities for the Atlas Copco Air Way business unit and partner closely with both local leadership and the broader Atlas Copco finance organization. You'll combine a strong command of financial controls and reporting with an in-depth understanding of product economics, enabling data-driven decisions across the product lifecycle.

Here's how you'll make an impact:



  • Lead all aspects of financial management for the facility, including accounting, cost control, and budgeting.


  • Partner with R&D, operations, and product management to provide financial insights that support product development, lifecycle management, and cost optimization.


  • Monitor profitability across product lines, maintaining accurate product costing, standard costing systems, and product master data.


  • Develop and maintain financial models, including product cost bridges, gross profit analysis, and scenario planning.


  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with Atlas Copco policies, IFRS, and applicable regulations.


  • Create and maintain KPIs and dashboards that track financial and operational performance.


  • Support long-term business planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.


  • Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital, and capital expenditure planning.


  • Ensure accurate inventory valuation, cost accounting, and job costing.


  • Oversee internal controls, ensuring compliance with group standards and supporting both local and global audits.


  • Identify and implement automation and process improvements within financial operations.


  • Provide financial guidance for investments, strategic initiatives, and ERP upgrades.


  • Lead, mentor, and develop finance and accounting staff to support professional growth and business success.


  • Coordinate and prepare financial data for tax team, ensuring accuracy and compliance in all filings


To succeed, you will need

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA, CMA, or advanced degree preferred).


  • 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including leadership responsibilities.


  • Strong knowledge of IFRS, internal control frameworks, and financial regulations.


  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment with exposure to product costing and global operations is strongly preferred.


  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.


  • Experience with ERP systems; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics GP and/or SAP is highly desirable.


  • Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail.


  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, meet monthly deadlines, and manage competing priorities.

Job location

Hybrid
This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely (2 days a week) and being on-site (3 days a week) at our Air Way Automation Location in Grayling, MI, United States (US).
