DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Survey Technician, you will serve as a valued member of a survey team responsible for operating manual and electronic equipment for preliminary, right-of-way, engineering, bridge, construction, land, and property surveys. Specific duties involve operating, adjusting, and maintaining various types of surveying instruments, as well as establishing centerlines, angles, and checking alignments of structures. You will utilize a wide-range of Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers and procedures to establish mapping and survey grade point locations. This includes performing trigonometric and algebraic calculations, preparing field sketches and notes, and reviewing the work of others to ensure accuracy. In addition, you will perform all survey team functions such as automatic level operator, transit operator, data collector operator, electronic total station operator, prism operator, chain person, and rod person using both conventional and electronic equipment. Your role will be instrumental in making crucial field decisions regarding location and recording of traverse and topography points. Interested in learning more? - Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- One year of experience as an Engineering Technician (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
- Three years of experience as a member of a survey corps which included duties operating both standard and electronic surveying instruments; or
- One year of experience as a member of a survey corps which included duties operating both standard and electronic surveying instruments, and an associate's degree in surveying, drafting, design, civil or any other appropriate field of engineering technology.
Conditions of Employment:
- This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
