Job Details
The Surgical Physician Assistant (PA) residency Fall of 2026 will provide a dynamic and hands on training experience on the surgical floors, ICU, clinics and operating rooms. Over the course of the year, residents can expect to have time divided between patient management (~75%) and direct surgical responsibilities (~25%). PA residents will receive didactic, clinical and laboratory education throughout the year. PA residents will rotate through selected core rotations that may include Surgical Oncology/GI, Thoracic, Vascular, Plastics, Trauma and Cardiac Surgery. A one-month rotation through a surgical ICU will be provided as well as an additional elective surgical rotations at a JHH affiliated hospital. When on rotations, PA residents will be working within a team to perform history and physical, make preliminary diagnosis for review by physician and issue diagnostic orders. PA residents will gain additional knowledge and skills such as surgical assist skills, EKG interpretation, wound care management, and removal of surgical drains. You must be fully credentialled by The Johns Hopkins Hospital medical board with staff privileges to start working. Salary Range: Minimum 35.43/hour - Maximum 35.43/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
