Pay Rate: 16.78 plus 0.45 shift differential



The position is considered "safety sensitive" which requires the passing of an independently administered drug screen.


GENERAL DESCRIPTION:


This position is responsible for the complete set up, blow down, and wash down all scales in the scale mezzanine to achieve daily production standards and ensure the production of safe quality food (SQF).



MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:



  • Blow down and wash down scale machines.
  • Set up scales for Master Packs.
  • Ensure an adequate supply of Master Packs is available.
  • Reset E-Stops for PMOs when necessary.
  • Set recipes for scales.
  • Shovel out hoppers when a product must be disposed of.
  • Maintain cleanliness in the area. - Perform any other duties assigned by your supervisor.




Required Skills

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:


EXPERIENCE: Previous experience in a food processing facility is desired but not required; training will be provided. A general understanding of plant operations and various departments is beneficial.


SKILLS: Strong communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate should be a self-starter and show initiative.


ADDITIONAL: The ability to work hands-on in a fast-paced, team-oriented food processing environment is required. Candidates must be able to work independently with limited supervision. Regular and acceptable attendance, following directions, and interacting well with co-workers while adhering to posted work rules and procedures are also necessary.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


The work environment is cool, with an average temperature of 34F. Concentrated chlorine and concealed


ammonia is present. Work surfaces and floors may be wet. Employees are required to wear approved shoes


and protective equipment. Employees must be able to lift 10 lbs. unassisted for up to three-quarters of


the workday and 6 lbs. overhead as needed. The job may require constant standing on a concrete floor, as


well as reaching, bending, stooping, and performing repetitive hand movements.


WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:


Ability to work overtime, weekends, rotating shifts preferred/required.

A high school diploma, GED, or demonstrated ability to perform the required tasks is


necessary.
