The Space Sector of Moog's Space and Defense Group (SDG) designs and manufactures systems to survive the harsh environments of space travel. As an industry leader in space avionics, actuation and mechanisms, propulsion, power, structures, and shock and vibration control, Moog has been committed to the space industry for more than 60 years and Moog products have been to every planet.

Our team in the SDG Space Sector's Actuation and Avionics Business Unit is looking for aSr. Manufacturing Process Engineer in the Electrical Process Engineering Groupwith experience in machine and process verification and validation processes. This person should be a self-starter and be able to be efficient with minimal direction. You will report to the Staff Engineering Manager and be the technical point of contact for program teams.

Day- to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Machine programming and routine set-ups for new products.
  • Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers.
  • Collaborate strategically with operations to optimize machine workflow and process improvements.
  • Lead the exploration and implementation of new technologies in circuit card, cable and electronic control box assembly processes.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams on root cause investigations to ensure adjacencies are addressed and robust corrective actions are implemented.
  • Propose and implement process improvements to increase first past yield and decrease cost and delivery lead times.
  • Create and maintain product specific work instructions and engineering process work instructions.

Here are the skills you'll bring with you...

  • Engineering experience in aerospace sector.
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering preferred) with 8+ years of relevant technical experience.
  • Experience with machine/equipment onboarding processes (IQ/OQ/PQ and Validation Verification processes).
  • Ability to work onsite in East Aurora, NY (remote candidates will not be considered).

Nice to have...

  • Experience in circuit card, cable and electronic box build manufacturing.
  • Leadership experience within an engineering organization with demonstrated ability to successfully influence and collaborate at senior levels of the organization.
  • Ability to delegate tasks and responsibilities with clear goals and context while providing appropriate levels of support and resources.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to become certified in IPC J-STD-001, IPC-A-610, IPC-A-620, and NASA 8739 standards.
  • Knowledge of NX modeling or equivalent 3D modeling software.

Salary Range Transparency:

Buffalo, NY $90,000.00-$120,000.00 Annually

The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
