![]() CEO International Council on Clean Transportation For more than two decades, ICCT has played a defining role in conducting rigorous technical analysis and translating it into policies that reduce pollution, protect public health, and address climate change across continents. ICCT's impact is both global and tangible. Its research helped transform vehicle emissions testing worldwide following Dieselgate, catalyzed a global race to the top on clean vehicle standards, and shaped international climate commitments in aviation and maritime transport. The ICCT now seeks a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead one of the world's most respected and influential organizations advancing clean transportation policy. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the CEO serves as ICCT's most senior leader and principal external representative. The CEO will steer ICCT at a moment when global climate and public health outcomes hinge on the pace and quality of transportation policy. Transportation accounts for approximately 25% of global carbon dioxide emissions, and more than 90% of the global population lives in areas where air pollution exceeds World Health Organization limits. ICCT envisions a future where leaders around the globe use expert research and technical support to develop ambitious, coordinated policies to eliminate air and climate pollution from transportation—consistent with limiting warming to well below 2°C and pursuing efforts to limit warming to 1.5°C this century. In 2025, the Board approved an ambitious strategy through 2030, focused on accelerating global electric vehicle adoption, expanding impact in new regions and sectors, and strengthening organizational capacity to sustain this work. ICCT is well positioned for its next phase of leadership, with strong momentum, a growing global footprint, and a clear strategic mandate. Today, ICCT employs more than 185 staff across six permanent offices and additional locations worldwide, working side-by-side with policymakers to deliver technically rigorous, unbiased, and policy-relevant analysis. The CEO will mobilize coalitions, strengthen strategic partnerships, and attract the resources needed to translate rigorous analysis into ambitious, durable policy outcomes. Navigating complex global political and market contexts, the CEO will engage senior policymakers and industry leaders to ensure ICCT's analysis informs ambitious and durable transportation policies. The role calls for a leader who can champion evidence-based solutions with conviction while working in deep partnership with world-class technical experts. At the same time, the CEO will be a steward of ICCT as an institution and community. In close collaboration with an experienced senior leadership team, the CEO will provide executive-level oversight of organizational performance, financial sustainability, and risk management, while fostering a culture grounded in integrity, independence, inclusion, and professional excellence. This is a rare opportunity to lead one of the world's most respected clean transportation organizations and to shape transportation systems that will define economic opportunity, public health, and climate outcomes for generations to come.
