As aMetro Build Program Manager, you will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. In this environment,you may be asked to go on businesstravelto support other campus/metros periodically, 0-25% of the timeand have the ability to work during non-standard businesshours that may include evening, nighttime,weekendsand/or holidays. Responsibilities Data Center Build Operations Establish good working relationships with all the Construction stakeholders Attend all Metro new build, expansion and retrofit project related design, construction, and commissioning meetings. Be the liaison between Construction and Operations (be the voice for Operations) and escalate any issues that could cause impact Participate in all Construction/Operations walk throughs, as well as routine construction inspections during the builds Coordinate and execute turnover operations, ensure turnover checklist is completed andvalidated, and all turnover artifacts are delivered on time. Document and report lessons learned from each project Service Delivery Able to balance leadership, influence skills, supportive individual contributions, project management, andexpertisein enterprise-level operations. Monitors services and KPIs, OKRs, SLAs, and OLAs and reports trends and service anomalies. Keep track of all the latest and upcoming key milestones and deliverables Leads key processes, such as team and triage meetings, prioritizes work across the team, and rebalances priorities to respond to changes. Standardizing infrastructure equipment, processes, and workflows through design, construction, and turnover of these world class facilities. Assistingwith new facility design & commissioning,coordinating toinstallation of core network infrastructures. Data Center Work Environment: Share best practices,assistsothers in learning role, process, procedures, andmentorsothers Promotes a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of datacenter activities Realize the impact of change on others Learn, live, and coach the One Microsoft culture and values. Qualifications Required Qualifications: High School Qualification or equivalent AND 3+ years' experience working on large scale projects in an engineering and/or construction management role within critical environment OR equivalent experience Background Check Requirements: Abilityto meet Microsoft,customerand/or government security screening requirements arerequiredfor this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will berequiredto pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's or Technical College Degree inCivil Engineering,Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Managementor related fieldto ConstructionAND 8+years experiencein critical environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU), or working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling) OR High School Qualification or equivalent AND 10+years experiencein critical environment infrastructures (e.g., UPS, Generator, AHU), or working in physical IT infrastructures (e.g., Servers, SANs, Networking, Capacity, DC Rack/Enclosures, structured cabling) OR equivalent experience. Applicable certifications: ASICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications, PMP, ITIL, CDCP. Experience managing multiple concurrent build or expansion projects across a metro or regional portfolio. Experience managing general contractors, trade partners, and commissioning agents across largescale construction programs. Ability to communicate complex build risks, timelines, and tradeoffs to senior leadership. Familiarity with AHJ requirements, permitting, inspections, and regulatory dependencies affecting data center construction timelines. Experience delivering capacity at scale, including phased turnover aligned to business demand. Data Center Operations Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102,600 - $202,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $137,500 - $225,800 per year.
