*Description*
The ideal candidate will design, implement, and maintain enterprise infrastructure supporting both internet- and intranet-facing services, with responsibility for ensuring platform reliability, recoverability, and operational continuity. This role requires deep Linux administration skills, solid Windows Server experience, and hands-on involvement with enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions, including routine validation, restore testing, and documentation. The Systems Administrator will focus on system hardening, automation, performance optimization, and availability, while collaborating closely with security, network, storage, and application teams to meet defined service levels, RTO/RPO objectives, and organizational resilience requirements. Job Purpose: The Systems Administrator role exists to ensure the stability, security, and resilience of the organization's infrastructure, in accordance with contractual obligations to deliver these services to the Client. Own and operate the Veeam-based backup and disaster recovery environment to ensure data protection, recoverability, and operational readiness across production and DR sites. Design and maintain backup architecture, manage immutable and hardened Linux repositories, configure proxies and repositories, perform capacity planning, and execute routine backup validation and recovery testing to meet defined recovery objectives. 40% Administer and maintain Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server systems across production and development environments to ensure availability, performance, and security. Perform system provisioning, configuration, monitoring, patching, and troubleshooting. Apply hardening standards; and ensure systems align with operational, security, and compliance requirements. 10% Implement and manage foundational infrastructure services and security controls that support reliable and secure system operations. Configure and maintain DNS, DHCP, configuration management (Ansible), Linux security policies, and patch management processes, ensuring consistent enforcement of standards and timely remediation of vulnerabilities. 10% Support storage integration and high-availability configurations to ensure resilient and scalable system performance. Configure SAN storage at the operating system level, implement clustering and load balancing solutions, and coordinate with database and network teams to maintain performance, redundancy, and fault tolerance. 20% Develop automation and manage open-source services to improve efficiency, reliability, and maintainability of the infrastructure. Create and optimize Bash scripts for automation and maintenance; deploy and support open-source tools and services such as rsync, rsyslog, OpenSSL, OpenSSH, and Apache; and ensure services are securely configured, monitored, and documented. 20% *Skills* Linux, Powershell, Veeam VRO, Disaster Recovery, Enterprise Backups *Top Skills Details* Linux,Powershell,Veeam VRO,Disaster Recovery,Enterprise Backups *Additional Skills & Qualifications* The ideal candidate will have strong experience administering Linux (RHEL) and Windows Server systems in enterprise environments, with hands-on exposure to backup and disaster recovery platforms (Veeam preferred). This role requires proficiency with SAN storage, high-availability configurations, and core infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, and SSL/TLS. The Systems Administrator should be skilled in automation and scripting (Bash, Ansible), system hardening, patch management, and maintaining open-source services including rsync, rsyslog, OpenSSL, OpenSSH, and Apache. Success in this role depends on the ability to operate within structured change management processes and collaborate effectively with security, network, database, and application teams. *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract position based out of Anaheim, CA. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr.
