Overview

This is a full-time, hybrid career opportunity based out of our Kennedy Boulevard location in Lakewood, NJ.

The Mortgage Loan Officer Assistant supports one or more Mortgage Loan Officers by managing administrative tasks and client communication to ensure a smooth and efficient loan process. The MLOA helps gather, organize, and review documentation, and communicates with customers, internal employees, and external contacts. The role is key in delivering an excellent customer experience and helping ensure timely loan closings. Mortgage Loan Officer Assistants perform key functions to ensure client needs are met. MLOAs assist with prequalification, document gathering, structuring loans, and using technology to ensure a smooth customer experience.



Responsibilities

    Input files into Loan Origination System (LOS) and review online loan applications to properly structure loan files
  • Collect borrower documents for review by underwriting, including prequalification and loan applications
  • Review files to be submitted to loan setup. Ensure borrower has submitted all necessary information. Communicate with borrower to collect necessary paperwork.
  • Actively supports the Mortgage Loan Officers using technology sales tools. This specifically references the use of our Marketing Operating System and our presentation tool
  • Communication with loan customers in process and referral partners
  • Additional business development activities at the direction of their manager and supported loan officer. This includes, but is not limited to, follow up with prequalified clients, sourcing realtor, builder, or other COI opportunities, or representing FMC at events.


Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent. (Required)

Experience

1 or more years mortgage lending or administrative support. (Required)

1 or more years mortgage banking. (Preferred)

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of mortgage loan products, underwriting and closing processes (Preferred)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) (Required)
  • Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy (Required)
  • Strong organizational and time management skills (Required)
  • Strong customer service skills (Required)
  • Technologically focused (Preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (Required)


Other Duties as Assigned by Manager

This role may perform other job duties as assigned by the manager. Each employee of the Organization, regardless of position, is accountable for reading, understanding and acting on the contents of all Company-assigned and/or job related Compliance Programs, regulations and policies and procedures, as well as ensure that all Compliance Training assignments are completed by established due dates. This includes but is not limited to, understanding and identifying compliance risks impacting their department(s), ensuring compliance with applicable laws or regulations, and escalating compliance risks to the appropriate level of management.

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible to participate in a commission plan.
