Job Description




As a Security Guard - Government Perimeter Rounds in Bronx, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As an unarmed Patrol Officer with Allied Universal at a government location, you will complete routine rounds, stay highly visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and support access control and badge checks when needed. You will greet staff and visitors with strong customer service, document observations, and communicate clearly with site contacts. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to residents, staff, and visitors by following site-specific policies, access control procedures, and other security-related post orders, including support during emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, common areas, and building perimeter to help to identify unusual activity, unsecured doors, maintenance concerns, and/or policy violations, then report findings per procedure.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including de-escalation support when appropriate and prompt notification to site leadership and/or public resources as directed by post orders.
  • Monitor entry points, confirm authorization for entry, manage visitor sign-in and/or identification checks as required, and assist with orderly movement through screening and check-in areas.
  • Document incidents, patrol activity, and notable observations in written reports and/or electronic logs, and communicate timely updates during shift turnovers.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 6+ months of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • A guard card and/or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
