Job Description




As a Security Officer - Armed Rapid Response in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. Join Allied Universal as an armed patrol officer supporting a high-visibility government transportation location. You will conduct routine foot and/or vehicle patrols, remain highly visible to help discourage security-related incidents, respond to calls for assistance, and provide clear communication and customer service to riders and staff. This post requires an Armed Guard Card or License and a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit, with professionalism, integrity, and teamwork at the center of every shift.

What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to passengers, employees, and visitors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
  • Perform armed post duties in accordance with Allied Universal policies, post orders, and applicable laws and/or regulations, including proper handling, storage, and documentation of assigned weapon and equipment.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including coordinating with site contacts and public law enforcement as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of stations, platforms, entrances, parking areas, and perimeter areas; observe and report unusual activity and conditions that may help to deter unwanted behavior.
  • Control access to restricted areas, verify identification and/or credentials when required, and complete detailed reports of incidents, patrol activity, and daily observations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Possess a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit.
  • Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
  • Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
