Pump Applications Engineer
Reports To: Inside Sales Manager Position Summary The Pump Applications Engineer is responsible for preparing accurate quotations for new, duplicate, and replacement pumps and/or parts, ensuring solutions meet customer specifications and project requirements. This role supports the sales/service teams and utilizes technical expertise to deliver compliant and cost-effective pump solutions to CH Spencer's customers. Key Responsibilities: * Prepare accurate cost estimates and comprehensive written quotes for pump systems and related equipment. * Collaborate with the sales team to collect comprehensive project details and integrate their input into accurate quotations for pump solutions. * Contact suppliers to obtain component pricing. * Utilize technical knowledge to clarify terminology and supply or obtain missing information from customers, and/or Sales Representatives. * Provide technical support to sales teams and customers, ensuring accurate and timely quotes for a variety of pump types and applications. * Read and interpret customer specifications to ensure quotes meet technical and performance requirements. * Prepare document submittals and final engineering document packages. * Resolve order issues by coordinating with vendors and internal departments to ensure product pricing accuracy, availability, and proper documentation for pump systems. * Maintain professional and technical knowledge of pump technologies through continuous learning and training. * Promote a team approach and work collaboratively across departments to ensure successful pump system implementations. * Perform other duties as assigned. To succeed, you will need Skills and Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent work experience. * 3-5 years of experience in applications engineering, specifically with pumps or municipal water systems. * Strong mechanical skills and knowledge of pump systems and principles, including reading pump curves. * Well organized, self-motivated, and possess a strong sense of urgency. * Ability to prioritize to meet expectations. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. * Strong problem-solving abilities and a high degree of initiative. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Experience with project management and customer service in the pump industry. * Experience with drafting software such as AutoCAD is a plus.
