Position Summary: The Communications Support Specialist supports the planning, execution, and distribution of Catholic Charities Serving Central Washington's communications and marketing efforts across digital and print platforms. This position provides execution support for both organization-wide brand initiatives and program-level communications across Catholic Charities' services and departments. The Communications Support Specialist works closely with Advancement, Communications, and Development leadership to implement communication strategies, support program visibility, and increase community awareness. This role executes day-to-day communications work within established brand standards, policies, and procedures, and collaborates with stakeholders across the agency to support a wide range of communications needs. Responsibilities:
- Provide communications execution support to programs and departments across the agency using approved messaging and materials
- Distribute content across digital platforms, including website, social media, email newsletters, and internal employee platforms
- Update and maintain website pages, digital content, playlists, and other platform-based assets within the content management system (CMS)
- Assist in the design and production of print and digital creative collateral, including flyers, brochures, program materials, and other internal and external resources
- Work closely with the Copywriter to support publication of blog articles and long-form content, including formatting, scheduling, and cross-posting via social media and email newsletters
- Repurpose content across channels to support central brand initiatives and program-level communications
- Develop and maintain strong organizational awareness of Catholic Charities programs, services, and audiences
- Demonstrate stewardship over digital asset management, including proper naming, organization, storage, and retrieval within shared communications and marketing archives
- Ensure all public-facing communications align with the organization's brand voice, visual identity, and messaging standards
- Apply SEO best practices and platform tools to digital content to increase visibility, engagement, and community awareness
- Support basic reporting and tracking of communications activities as directed
- Takes day-to-day direction, prioritization, and approvals from the Communications Manager
- Works closely with the Copywriter to ensure timely and accurate publication of content
- Collaborates with program staff, department leaders, and internal stakeholders across the agency to gather content and information
- Coordinates with the Advancement team on fundraising and outreach initiatives
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Graphic Design, or a related field, required
Experience
- Two or more years of experience in a communications, marketing, or digital content role
- Experience supporting communications or marketing initiatives across digital platforms including social media
- Hands-on experience with content management systems (CMS)
- Experience assisting with development of digital and print creative materials
- Interest in mission-driven or community-focused work preferred
Special Skills
- Knowledge of digital communications and marketing platforms
- Working knowledge of digital communications and marketing platforms
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and/or Canva and Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with social media scheduling and publishing tools
- Basic understanding of SEO principles and platform optimization

Licensure, Registration, Certification
- Valid Washington State driver's license and minimum required liability insurance for WA State
- Must be deemed insurable as determined by Catholic Charities insurance liability provider
Employment is conditional upon:
- Being cleared by criminal background check and fingerprinting when required
Work Schedule: Monday- Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
Wage Range: $28.00 - $33.75 per hour, depending on experience
