About the role The GitHub Pre-Sales Technical Solution Consultant (TSC) partners with Insight Account Executives (AEs) and Services Account Executives (SAEs) to manage and grow GitHub sales opportunities within assigned regions or markets. The TSC leverages deep GitHub technical knowledge and organizational resources to develop and propose solutions, focusing on sales and profit goals through client engagement, solution development, and account planning. This role is considered a technical expert and requires relevant GitHub certifications. Essential Functions * Sales Support: Support GitHub sales opportunities throughout the sales cycle: discovery, client Q&A, and project qualifying. * Technical Expertise:Serve as a technical resource for AEs/SAEs and Sales Specialists, covering solutions such as GitHub Enterprise, GitHub Actions, GitHub Advanced Security, and Microsoft integrations. * Consultation & Relationship Building: Advise clients on GitHub products and services; build strong relationships with Insight and GitHub teams. * Client Needs Assessment: Assess customer needs via calls and emails; develop and present GitHub solutions. * Solution Development: Use GitHub configuration tools for demos and presentations; conduct whiteboarding sessions and utilize MS PowerPoint. * Project Qualifying: Understand client objectives and technical requirements to be able to qualify a GitHub opportunity for delivery. * Professional Development: Attend GitHub events and training sessions. * Professional Representation:Maintain relationships with AEs/SAEs, GitHub, and clients; represent Insight professionally. * Other:Some travel required; additional duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements Education & Experience * Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent experience/training. * 3+ years in GitHub field sales or technical solutions support. * Advanced understanding of GitHub and related DevOps technologies. Required GitHub Certifications Candidates must have completed, or be willing to obtain, one or more of the following official GitHub certifications: * GH-900: GitHub Foundations Certification Foundational knowledge of Git, GitHub platform, collaboration, and project management. * GH-100: GitHub Administration Certification Administration basics, product features, org/enterprise governance, SSO/SCIM, branch policies, audit logs, and enterprise workflows. * GH-200: GitHub Actions Certification Workflow automation, CI/CD pipeline management, and DevOps practices using GitHub Actions. * GH-300: GitHub Copilot Certification AI-assisted development, prompt engineering, and responsible use of GitHub Copilot. * GH-500: GitHub Advanced Security Certification Securing code, managing security features, secret scanning, code scanning with CodeQL, and dependency management. Preferred: * Completion of GitHub technical/sales training & certification in relevant areas. * Additional Microsoft certifications in related technologies.
