The Facilities Capital Project Engineer will be a key member of the Facilities and Maintenance team and will focus on improvement and reliability activities specifically within the production plant. The expectation is to own the facility support function and drive improvement activity within the plant. The role will be to support equipment excellence and attain a level of up time associated with a world-class facility.



Key Responsibilities:




  • Plans, directs, and coordinates improvement actions within the production area.
  • Develop and implement best practice and improvements resulting in on increasing up time, and reducing the mean time between failure (MTBF)
  • Support the maintenance / facility team in quickly determining root cause and corrective actions for unplanned down time, returning equipment to a usable condition supporting a target of meantime to repair within 10hrs or better.
  • Manage projects of specific assigned capital investment projects and act as advisor on capital projects for all facility-based improvements.
  • Be hands on support resource for maintenance / facility team.
  • Provides recommendations on equipment, operating trends and business practices.
  • Technical Support for operations
  • Work with managers, engineers, supervisors on production improvements and scrap reduction initiatives.



Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years' experience in foundry / manufacturing engineering
  • Knowledge of Heat Treat and Vacuum furnace equipment is desired
  • Experience working with plant utility systems:

    • Chilled water systems, cooling tower water systems, compressed air systems, specialty gas systems, HVAC systems, dehumidification systems, etc.


  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to write technical documents
  • Ability to analyze data and make fast, accurate decisions
  • Ability to lead problem solving teams
