Description

Macmillan is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant to support the Performance Marketing & Audience Development team within the Consumer Insights, Marketing & Analytics (CIMA) department. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated early-career marketer to gain experience in conversion-driven digital advertising, audience growth, and campaign analytics at one of the world's leading publishing companies.

The Assistant, Performance Marketing & Audience Development is a key member of the team, responsible for supporting daily operations, ensuring campaigns run smoothly, and contributing to both creative and analytical aspects of performance and digital marketing. This role blends organization, creativity, and curiosity, offering hands-on experience with applying data-driven marketing strategies and actionable consumer insights to reach consumers.

What you'll do:



  • Provide day-to-day operational and administrative support for the Performance Marketing & Audience Development team, including invoice coding, expense tracking, vendor insertion order management, and bulk buy coordination.
  • Assist with digital and social media advertising preparation by confirming specs, organizing assets, and ensuring tracking links are correctly set up ahead of launch, helping to ensure every campaign runs efficiently and accurately; support QA of social and self-serve digital ads, assist with asset delivery to vendors, and monitor live campaigns.
  • Assist with retail media advertising and metadata optimization as needed.
  • Support the placement, testing, and troubleshooting of tracking pixels on campaign landing pages and Macmillan-owned sites.
  • Working closely with the Associate Manager, Advertising & Analytics act as a point of contact for administrative questions from publisher marketing teams, including bulk buy invoicing, campaign asset deadlines, and creative spec confirmations; serve as an administrative liaison with vendors.
  • Coordinate requests for new vendor relationships and pricing, including research, collecting pitch decks, media kits, and rate cards and scheduling introductory meetings.
  • Maintain and regularly update centralized campaign calendars and trackers to improve visibility and communication across teams.
  • Assist with onboarding of new tools and team members by managing access credentials and maintaining documentation of best practices and how-to guides.
  • Provide creative support for campaigns, including short-form copywriting and simple asset creation; Contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide ideas to improve campaign performance and audience engagement.
  • Assist with compiling and formatting campaign analytics reports for internal and cross-functional use.
  • Track action items and follow up on next steps from relevant meetings.
  • Collaborate with other teams within CIMA, including Social Media & Audience Growth, Direct-to-Consumer Marketing & Ecommerce Strategy, Consumer Insights, and Author, Brand, & Backlist Marketing Strategy.


What you'll bring:



  • Performance marketing/digital advertising or marketing internship experience, preferably in digital media, publishing, or advertising.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines.
  • A passion for reading and connecting books with consumers.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and desire to collaborate in a team-first setting.
  • Eagerness to learn new tools and stay current with emerging digital marketing, online shopping, and AI trends.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, X).
  • Familiarity with digital marketing tools and platforms (Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads, GA4, tracking pixels) and analytics/business intelligence tools (Power BI) is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; comfortable interacting with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; familiarity with creative and tracking tools such as Photoshop, Canva, WordPress, and project management platforms.


This role will have an annual salary of $50,000
