Overview

The AVP, New Talent Strategies will lead thehighly criticalrecruitment function across Duke University Health System, (DUHS), designed to strategically attract, hire, andretaintop talent in a rapidly growing organization situated in a competitive market. As the recruiting leader for the health system, the AVP will develop, drive, andexecute ontalent acquisition strategies acrossall ofDUHS, from entry-level hires to finding strategic leaders across all departments.

S/he will serve as the primary advisor to senior leadership on talent acquisition initiatives, delivering a strategic consultative approach to the organization by providing relevant best practices and market insights to meet a high volume of diverse requirements across the organization.

Beyond leading the talent acquisition team for the health system, this leader will be adept at building high-trust partnerships with management and internal customers, in addition to having a passion for building world-class candidate experience in a fast-paced, high-growth market. This leader will partner, onboard and assimilate new hires as well as develop key strategies to retain key talent.

The AVP, New Talent Strategies will be a natural people leader, skilled in building great teams and defining strategy, developing processes and managing by fact, and leveraging data and analytics to ensure DUHS' recruiting engine is running efficiently. This position reports to the Vice President of Human Resources Operations to advance the mission of the health system. Also critical to this role is to maintain a strong partnership with Duke University Talent Acquisition, Administrative Systems Management and HR colleagues.

Key Responsibilities



  • Establishes and delivers strategic goals and priorities for DUHS Talent Acquisition and in alignment with DUHS's strategicobjectives.





  • Builds andmaintainsstrategic relationships with key leaders and internal customers across the business as a trusted talent strategist and advisor.





  • Providesexpertiseand thought leadership in outreach programming, marketing and communications that ensures the development of a diverse talent force.





  • Delivers talent acquisition excellence including the development and implementation of strategies to source recruit and select a diverse and highly qualified workforce.





  • Elevates the hiring manager and candidate experience in all decision making, processes and programs.





  • Coaches, develops,empowersand motivates a high-performing team of enthusiastic recruiting professionals.





  • Leads a data-driven recruiting department,leveraginganalytics and metrics to support efficiencies and decision-making.





  • Provides strategic vision and guidance around continuous improvement initiatives with an eye for streamlining system-wide processes within talent acquisition.





  • Communicates and influences talent decisions across a complex, matrixed, fast-paced organization.





  • Leadstalent acquisition marketing in partnership withDUHS marketing and communications.





  • Drives and leads relationships with search firms and all recruitment service providers and operational vendors.

  • Strong working knowledge of OFCCP andrecruitingand employment compliance.





  • Ability to multi-task and work independently.





  • Innovative and progressive orientation withhighsense of urgency and follow through.



Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree with emphasis in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or other related disciplinerequired. Advanced degree preferred.





  • Minimum 8 - 10 years'experience in talent acquisition and/or human resources roles at a high-growth, high-volume organization, with five of those in a leadership role.





  • Proventrack recordof achieving business goals and delivering a best-in-class hiring experience for candidates and hiring managers.





  • Strategic,high-energyleader with high emotional intelligence and deep experience managing a large and diverse recruitment team.





  • Healthcare experiencepreferred.
