Sunoco LP is a leading energy infrastructure and fuel distribution master limited partnership operating across 47 U.S. states, Puerto Rico, Europe, and Mexico. Position Summary:
This position will report to the Operations Supervisor in Marshalltown, IA, however, the successful candidate will be required to
live within 30 minutes to 45 minutes of the Fremont, Nebraska area. This position is subject to both pre-employment and random DOT drug testing.
Under close supervision, duties perform as outlined by the supervisor of operations related to the operation and repair of company pipeline and terminal delivery assets. Supports the safe operation ensures a clean and organized work environment within your area of responsibility.
Major Accountabilities:
* Assists with all facets of safe excavation practices per established company policies and OSHA requirements.
* Safely locate, probe, and mark the location of underground utilities and pipelines. Complete required Operator Qualification requirements as needed.
* Acts as a spotter anytime mechanical excavation of pipeline is needed.
* Responds to high priority and emergency situations to limit the impact to the environment, community and business objectives.
* Acts as a fire watch during hot work activities.
* Provides local assistance to maintenance crew if they are working within your area of responsibility.
* Applies joint and pipe coating to pipeline assets prior to backfilling anytime the pipeline is exposed for repairs.
* Assists during hydrostatic testing activities within your area of responsibility.
* Performs periodic and routine maintenance on equipment and assigned vehicles.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirement:
* High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Associate or Bachelor's degree or technical school degree is preferred
Experience Requirement:
* Previous pipeline experience is preferred
* Ability to use various power and hand tools is required
* Willingness and availability to answer and respond to after-hour calls 24-hours per day/7-days per
week is required
*Ability to work independently and unsupervised is required.
* Experience working with anhydrous ammonia is preferred
* Familiarity with safe work practices, confined space regulations, DOT pipeline safety devices
and safe electrical practices is required
* Experience working with industrial operating and control systems is preferred
* Willingness to travel and stay in hotels for extended projects and work at remote locations is
required
*Effective oral and written communication skills in English are required
* Valid driver's license and good driving record required
* Ability to develop and install basic electrical systems is preferred
* Knowledge and experience with Allen Bradley, Omni, Modicon, Quantum, Satellite Communications
Systems and Rosemount I/P systems is preferred but not essential
* Ability to read, interpret and troubleshoot I/E schematics is preferred
* Ability to read and interpret technical materials, i.e. blueprints, manuals alignment sheets, etc. is
preferred.

* Ability to walk across ruff field terrain for a mile to locate pipeline at least a few times per week for ONECALLS.

* Lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. at least a few times a week, with the expectations that an employee can lift up to 100 lbs. with assistance, when needed.
* Carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs. for up to 50 feet on a weekly basis.
* Walking 100 yards or more over 10 times throughout the day, with the expectations that employees could walk regularly up to 300 yards at a time for a total of 2 miles or more during a shift.
* Walking on steep inclines for up to 15 minutes at a time.
* Working in a crouching position several times per day for up to an hour at a time.
* Bending and stooping several times per day for up to 30 minutes at a time.
* Bending and twisting for up to 30 minutes at a time, including manually digging with shovels.
* Standing in one place for up to an hour at a time.
* Sitting for up to two hours at a time.
* Ability to wear all appropriate personal protection equipment, such as safety shoes, safety glasses, hard hat, flame-resistant clothing, hearing protection, full face respirator/breathing apparatus, and/or fall protection, as required by the job activities.
