Job Summary

Love crafting messages that bring people together? As an Internal Communications Specialist, you'll execute key tactics within strategic communication plans to deliver clear, engaging messaging that aligns with Company objectives. You'll collaborate with Employees across the business on communication initiatives, serving as a trusted resource and ensuring consistency, clarity, and connection. With a focus on Legendary Customer Service and strong crossTeam partnerships, you'll help elevate internal storytelling and keep Employees informed, inspired, and aligned.

Responsibilities
  • Support the success execution of broad communication strategies - delivering clear and effective messages that align with stated organizational and communication goals
  • Demonstrate autonomy in the execution of defined message and channel strategy, including gathering inputs, securing approvals, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners to execute communication strategy
  • Own and deliver on defined elements of communication strategies and projects under the guidance of direct Leader
  • Act with a broad set of stakeholders and audiences in mind, ensuring communications foster trust and engagement, and drive desired outcomes
  • Contribute to SWALife and other Companywide, external, and department channels as needed
  • Ensure consistency across internal, external, and social messaging to maintain brand integrity
  • Establish strong liaison relationships with Teams and departments to support Company-wide initiatives at the departmental level
  • Responsible for execution of the communications strategy across multiple topics or work groups, ensuring timely and effective delivery
  • Work with direct Leader to address emerging issues, framing solutions and delivering communication strategies that achieve optimal results
  • Develop a broad range of communication tactics independently, incorporating input and guidance from Leadership as needed
  • Identify opportunities to improvement with the delivery scope and provide feedback to direct Leader
  • May perform other job duties as directed by Employee's Leaders
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of communication and delivery methods including alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
  • Knowledge of communications strategy, programs, message dissemination, and measurement
  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar
  • Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Skilled in giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and applying relevant information to communication strategy and messaging
  • Ability to listen, understand, and communicate ideas presented in writing and/or in speaking with others
  • Ability to handle complex tasks with independent decision making
  • Ability to combine pieces of information to form general rules or conclusions (includes finding a relationship among seemingly unrelated events)
  • Ability to quickly make sense of, combine, and organize information into meaningful patterns
  • Ability to support the Team with communication needs during a crisis
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED
Experience
  • Entry-level experience; developing skills and knowledge in:
    • Contributing to communications efforts, either from within a business organization or with a strong partnership in the business
    • Working on cross-functional project teams to provide communications insight and support
    • Providing communications counsel to clients and creating communication plans and messages

  • Ability to perform work duties from limited space workstation/desk/office area for extended periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and interact with others in the English language to meet the demands of the job
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed and accuracy to meet the demands of the job

Other Qualifications

  • Must maintain a well-groomed appearance per Company appearance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or have authorization to work in the United States as defined by the Immigration Reform Act of 1986
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be able to comply with Company attendance standards as described in established guidelines
  • Must be able to travel periodically as needed
  • Must be willing to work outside of 8-5 hours as needed depending on the needs of the business
  • Must meet confidentiality expectations pertaining to confidential, proprietary, and sensitive Company information

Pay & Benefits

  • Competitive market salary from$63,700per year to$70,800 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities are available and awarded at the discretion of the company.
