Mass General Brigham AI (MGB AI) is an operating business unit within MGB Diversified Businesses Group. MGB AI is responsible for enabling artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced data science techniques to develop creative and practical solutions for critical challenges in healthcare delivery and operations, ultimately improving the care and experience of patients at Mass General Brigham (MGB) and beyond. To fulfill this vision, MGB AI works closely with key stakeholders, both internally and externally, to support the entire lifecycle of AI - from research and development, validation, deployment, continuous monitoring, and long-term maintenance and support.
Reporting to the Director, Strategy & Operations, the Senior Manager will lead and manage a portfolio of key strategic programs that have the potential for significant strategic value and/or revenue and operating income generation. This role will support commercial activities to execute on MGB AI's strategic growth plans.
This role requires leadership skills, discretion, and judgment to organize priorities, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with leaders across MGB, academic systems, and industry. The candidate should be a proactive self-starter with a strong sense of urgency, comfortable operating independently within a matrixed organization, sourcing input from key stakeholders where required.
- Develops a deep understanding of MGB AI's mandate to evaluate and advance new commercial relationships
- Supports negotiation and development of agreements with external parties
- Drives key components of business and strategic planning activities, including, for example, business case development
- Conducts market intelligence and maintains awareness and understanding of key developments in healthcare AI ecosystem
- Supports and advances multiple strategic business and programmatic initiatives concurrently from concept to commercial outcomes
- Works cross-functionally with MGB AI leadership to ensure strategies and initiatives address and capture the full continuum of topics
- Seeks and builds strong collaborative relationships within MGB, with academic systems, and with industry
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Complies with all policies and standards

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Applications, Business, Economics, Management required or Bachelor's Degree in Related Field of Study required

  • MBA/Master's Business or Sciences preferred

  • Equivalent experience may be accepted in lieu of degree

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience required in information technology, including project-related and/or business development experience within the technology, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and/or medical device industries

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong network and relationships with healthcare industry professionals and executives, particularly in the healthcare AI space.

  • Deal making and strategic business planning experience.

  • Ability to manage large, complex workstreams, including their dependencies, team members, other resources, and timeline.

  • Ability to organize, prioritize and delegate work and meet tight timelines.

  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work with people cooperatively and effectively from all organizational levels and build consensus through negotiation and diplomacy.

  • Ability to facilitate and work within a complex, fast-paced, multi-site environment.

  • Proficiency with MS PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.

  • Ability to manage large, complex projects, including their dependencies, team members, other resources, and timeline.

  • Ability to prioritize and delegate project demands accordingly.

  • Proficient in written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

  • Proficient in analytic and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work with people cooperatively and effectively from all organizational levels and build consensus through negotiation and diplomacy.

  • Ability to facilitate and work within a complex, multi-site environment.

Working Schedule:

  • Hybrid, M-F eastern standard business hours. Remote working hours require a quiet, secure, HIPAA-compliant workstation.

  • Onsite location at Assembly Row in Somerville, MA
