Job Summary:

The Analyst, He Supply Planning is responsible for the planning of helium supply chain by continuously analyzing global network. This role uses effective decision-making skills to determine the best logistical plan, while minimizing losses. The Analyst ensures Messer meets its source obligations, optimizes helium supply chain by analyzing route cost data to determine ideal approach to satisfy SvD requirements while minimizing costs, and communicates with customers and suppliers. The Analyst also manages relationships with freight partners to establish new, and maintain existing, transit lanes for global shipping routes.

Principal Responsibilities:




  • Establish procedures to record, file, and maintain data as needed, including ensuring compliance with Messer, CBP, DOT, IA TA, IMO, etc. policies and requirements
  • Minimize take or pay penalties from suppliers
  • Continuous process review of supply planning processes to ensure most efficient approach to current business model
  • Conduct reviews with supply and distribution teams ensuring alignment of supply, repositioning of assets, and overall utilization of container fleet to minimize sourcing risks (ToPs), proper maintenance, and reduce transport costs
  • Support standardization of business and systems processes across the business
  • Support month/year end close activities, as required
  • Maintain compliance with import/export, tax, customs, and other relevant regulations.
  • Verify and approve invoices for transport and shipping line service providers
  • Other work/projects as assigned by supervisor
  • Reporting: Review and analyze helium distribution costs, ancillary fee costs at US sources, container payloads, etc. monthly to optimize supply chain decisions on an ongoing basis
  • Create and maintain functional reports needed for the successful performance of other team members such as cost reports, asset databases, etc.
  • Consolidate supply vs. demand data, review data, and support delivery planning and supply execution



Required Skills:



  • Proficiency in MS office, particularly Excel, Access, Teams, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Solid understanding of global logistics and supply chain.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Precise, accurate, detail focused, well organized and able to prioritize
  • Customer focused: responds quickly, decisively, and effectively in dealing with customer feedback
  • Teamwork - works well with others (internal/ external) to identify areas for improvement
  • Schedule and manage tasks efficiently
  • Ability to work independently and accurately and is self-motivated
  • Cooperate with key contacts in a clear and decisive way
  • Ability to influence decisions and actions of others' behaviors



Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Logistics/Supply Chain, or Engineering
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience gained through roles supporting logistics, customer-facing operations, global supply chain management, helium operations, or similar functions.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Prior experience in helium or import/export environment preferred



The salary range for this position is $88,000-$109,000. Messer provides medical, dental, vision, short term disability, life insurance and paid time off as well as other voluntary benefits, such as, long term disability in accordance with the terms and conditions of these Plans. Employees are eligible to enroll in Messer's 401(k) Plan. Employees may be eligible to participate in the company's bonus program.
