Are you ready to add your unique flavor to our journey? The Technical Associate Engineer is responsible for providing engineering support and project management for the Avon plant. Support the implementation of the production equipment, maintenance and improvement with associated policies.
- Manage the plant approved projects based on defined priorities, timeframes and costs, define equipment and related specifications, layouts, technical specifications and select suppliers. Guide the activities pertaining to suppliers, support the assembly and installation of equipment, testing and production start-ups and in case of delays or deviations, define corrective action in coordination with TAM.
- Continuously seek the best technical solutions to maximize plant equipment efficiency and reliability including maintenance, engineering, energy savings and safety.
- Ensure constant analysis of maintenance data in terms of breakdowns, preventative maintenance and costs and suggest interventions for continuous improvements of equipment.
- Support the TAM in defining the investment plan, suggesting interventions and managing phases of R.C.A. (Request for Capital Appropriation) definition and feasibility analysis.
- Support and conduct tests on new equipment and modifications to existing equipment in compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Ensure consistent updating of records and documents concerning plant equipment.
- Assist maintenance techs in maintenance activities as needed.
- Responsible for developing, coaching, engaging the maintenance techs assigned to the supervisor's authority in the areas of operating in safe environment, driving accountability and controlling cost containment.
- Assists maintenance in solving problems and provides mentoring on the use of effective problem-solving methodologies.
- Responsible for effective intra-shift communication with production supervisors and work stakeholders regarding improved techniques, critical production information, status of production runs, etc...
- Develop training plans for new hires and continuous development of maintenance techs.
- Maintains proper staffing levels while administrating employee benefits of vacation and personal time.
- Manage Maintenance Techs ensuring compliance with company policies including attendance program with direct reports.
- Performs annual performance evaluations with direct reports.
- Coaches and develops maintenance tech through pay for skills.
- Work and communicate well with others and effectively contribute to the working relationships within Barilla America.
- This position will follow and promote all Quality and FS procedures to ensure compliance with FSSC22000, regulatory, quality, customer, and company requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience:
- AA degree in Management or a maintenance related field with BS in Engineering preferred.
- Minimum of three years' experience in a supervisory role in a maintenance or manufacturing environment or five years of progressive leadership roles in manufacturing/maintenance environment.
- Must have broad range of maintenance experience including electrical, mechanical, machining, PLC's, welding, VFD's, computerized maintenance systems and experience in installation of new equipment, start up and commissioning.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and GMP's preferred.
- Knowledge of food safety, HACCP and appropriate supporting programs (e.g. cleaning, sanitation, pest management, etc.) is preferred.
- Knowledge of ISO standards and systems, including ISO 22000 and ISO 9001 is preferred.
- Food manufacturing facility experience is preferred.
