Job Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic II supports manufacturing operations by performing preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance on production equipment. This role focuses on maintaining equipment reliability, troubleshooting mechanical and control system issues, and supporting cleanroom manufacturing environments. The position works closely with engineering and production teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations within a regulated medical device manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance on production equipment
Conduct safety checks, repairs, installations, and equipment modifications
Diagnose equipment failures and perform timely repairs to minimize downtime
Record all maintenance and repair activities using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Tear down, inspect, rebuild, and reassemble production equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Diagnose PLC-related issues and take appropriate corrective action
Read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics
Use precision measurement tools including micrometers, calipers, gauge pins, and multimeters
Requisition spare parts, tools, and materials for inventory and emergency repairs
Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve technical issues and implement improvements
Support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain compliance with safety policies, cleanroom protocols, and regulatory requirements
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of maintenance or industrial equipment experience
Mechanical systems troubleshooting and repair experience
Experience working in medical device manufacturing and cleanroom environments
Ability to follow written and verbal technical procedures
Strong problem-solving and technical communication skills
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
Two-year technical or vocational training and/or military technical experience
PLC maintenance experience or strong working knowledge of system controls
Experience working with engineering teams on equipment troubleshooting and improvement efforts
Semiconductor or optics manufacturing experience (or equivalent highly regulated manufacturing environments)
