Develop, expand and retain more complex business banking relationships. Within the Business Banking target market, this role is responsible for Sales, Relationship Management, Cross-sell, and Credit Risk of the most profitable Business Banking clients. Ensure that assigned assets and liabilities are properly accounted for, serviced and protected from loss or impairment in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, bank policies and sound banking practices.



JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  1. Develop new business for Firstrust through prospecting, COI cultivation and deepening relationships with existing customer base. Develop, maintain and expand these relationships by actively selling and promoting banking products to potential and existing customers. The primary focus is to successfully originate new client loans and to retain and organically grow the assigned relationships.
  2. Possesses knowledge of loan, deposit and cash management products in order to suggest products to new customers and cross sell existing customers.
  3. Analyze, structure, recommend and submit loans for approval to appropriate approving authority.
  4. Act as the primary lending officer to a large portfolio of commercial loan and deposit relationships. Partner with Credit Analysts to assist with the administration of this portfolio including delinquency, document follow up, covenant compliance, financial reporting, and renewals. Provide a differentiated, relationship centric experience to your portfolio.
  5. Properly document and close approved loan requests in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, bank policies and sound banking practices.
  6. Represents Firstrust in the Community by actively developing referral sources and centers of influence.
  7. Responsible for hitting goals and meeting expectations as set by the SVP, Director of Business Banking.


DECISION MAKING:


Makes decisions to recommend or decline commercial banking loan requests and also recommends appropriate additional product sales to new and existing relationships. Makes decisions on a daily basis regarding the quality, accuracy and correctness of financial and other business information presented to Firstrust by customers, prospects and others in regard to the underwriting process and the ongoing monitoring of a commercial banking portfolio.



PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:



  • While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to drive a motor vehicle, attending meetings at various venues, including but not limited to customers' offices and/or properties, restaurants and other meeting locations, and ascend/descend stairs and or ladders occasionally to perform inspections. The employee may be required to lift files/materials up to 20 pounds to take to various locations. The incumbent will be expected to operate a computer terminal and exchange information. The ability to utilize standard office including phone, fax and copier are essential.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting or Related Field preferred.
  • Participation in a formal credit training program required.
  • Goal oriented with 5 to 7 years Commercial Banking experience.
  • Good business development skills within the framework of carrying a large portfolio of accounts.
  • Sound knowledge of commercial lending practices, compliance issues, and underwriting skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills
