As a Partner Principal Solutions Engineer you will:

  • Own the development and implementation of complex products/applications/solutions for Dell. Own their reference architectures

  • Uses in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to staff and the partners specifically Dell through sales presentations and product demonstrations.

  • Assists the channel sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and may prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer products/applications/solutions.

  • Create detailed design and implementation specifications for complex products/applications/solutions. While also mapping Dell's requirements to current and future offerings

  • Potential to build a mini-application based on Dell's requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client.

  • Provide consultation to prospective Dell users and/or product capability assessment and validation.

  • Own the technical sales process for Dell from introductory meetings (net new sales) through post-sales (partner satisfaction, upselling, and subscription renewals) educate prospects on the business value of Cloudera's offerings

We're excited about you if you have:

  • Experience seeing the entire lifecycle from conception to design to technology evaluation to pilot program to implementation to maintenance and support

  • Ability to switch context quickly throughout the day with numerous competing demands

  • Minimum 5 years experience and success working in a customer-facing role hands-on, technical, problem solver personality

  • A passion for using technology to make a difference to people and organisations. We'll supply some amazing tools to help you with this and you'll provide the connection to use cases, which make it real for your customers

  • A minimum of 15 years experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in a pre-sales context

  • The ability to create and give technical presentations and demonstrations

  • Experience with some of the following technologies:

    • Big Data, Data Warehousing or Relational Databases

    • One or more of the three major cloud service providers (AWS, Azure or GCP). Formal certification is not required, but would be a great thing to have

    • Data Engineering, Data Science or Machine Learning

    • Operations, Security and Data Governance within the enterprise

    • Unix or Linux

  • Experience gathering and understanding customer business requirements

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Problem solving skills

  • A willingness to learn, a curiosity to discover and a drive to make your customers successful

  • Four year degree (Bachelor's) from accredited university required

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
