Job Overview This position is responsible to blend finished fluid product and perform all other task and activities associated with the product in our blending, grease and/or chem plant area. The blender responsibilities include loading and offloading bulk chemicals such as from and or to tanker trucks, iso containers and railcars. The blending operator routinely transfers raw materials and products and must ensure the correct material is transferred to the correct destination as a core responsibility of the role. The blender performs calculations as required to determine tank contents and quantities transferred as well as other batch related calculations. The blender must followed detailed batch instructions which includes precisely weighing and adding raw materials as part of making blending batches. In this role, the operator will also perform packaging as needed and the blender must be able to drive a forklift. Additionally, there is lifting required and is a essential part of this job and which includes but not limited to lifting and dumping of raw materials into blend kettles and transfer of materials. The blender must accurately and legibly fill out all forms and batch records. The role also include tasks and activities needed tomaintain safe and efficient production activities: Lock out Tag out, 6S/Housekeeping, PHA support, inspections, and other duties as assigned. Job Highlights Follow Standard Operation Procedure Offload and Unload bulk chemicals Transfer chemicals as required Perform blending of batch operations Fill out required paperwork Continually stive to learn and improve Perform lock out tag out on equipment per procedure/guidance Perform regularly inspections as required to maintain compliance Perform preventive maintenance and quality control checks Transfer of materials, material sampling Monitor and record process data as required Proactively respond safely and quickly to process abnormalities Maintain good housekeeping Packaging products in various containers as needed Perform necessary task to maintain inventory of materials (cycle counts, SAP transaction, tank gauging, calculating tank quantities and transfers, etc.) Perform other duties as assigned Qualificiations and Experience 4+ years prior Chemical plant or similar experience handling chemicals in industrial environment required Prior experience blending chemicals and bulk chemical handling strongly preferred Must be minimum of 18 years of age High School Diploma or Equivalence required Clear and comprehensive communication in English (written/verbal) required Basic mathematic and numeracy skills required Qualified forklift operator required Ability to work in a Team environment Committed to safety & organizational goals Self-motivated with good work ethic Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders and stairs, and stand for continuous periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to work in a hot, humid, noisy and high volume machine production area Ability to climb ladders and platforms (such as on storage tanks and railcars) Ability and willingness to work safely and wear PPE as required Other Interview Feedback Think new, act fast Act as a team Seek solutions Keep it simple Take ownership, Create value Location: East Hanover Employee Type: Regular Who we are LANXESS is a leading specialty chemicals company with about 12,000 employees in 32 countries.
