About this Role - Senior Purchasing Agent We are looking for a talented Senior Purchasing Agent that has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for leading material procurement efforts on major construction projects and provides mentoring to fellow team members. What You'll Do - Leads the procurement efforts on multiple or complex large projects. - Provides management, guidance, and assistance to the purchasing department personnel. - Selects vendors, assesses vendor capabilities, evaluates vendor performance, develops alternate sources, and negotiates price and delivery. - Recommends major purchases of materials based on specifications, current lead times and cost. - Makes certain that purchasing documents are properly completed and the terms and conditions of purchases are appropriate. - Assures that department records are maintained and that purchases are followed up or expedited when required. - Analyze price histories to provide information on price variances. - Sets up annual blanket pricing agreements. - Prepares correspondence, presentations and reports for key customers and management. - Works with the estimating department on pricing of estimates. - Works with project management to procure materials at the correct cost and in a timely manner. What You'll Bring - 7+ years of electrical construction material procurement experience is preferred - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business or Engineering - Related experience in the electrical construction industry will be considered - Experience working in electrical distribution is preferred - Knowledge of standard purchasing procedures and practices - Ability to explain and motivate others to follow Company purchasing practices and procedures. - Good negotiating and interpersonal skills - Proven communication, organizational, presentation and analytical skills. - Strong managerial skills. - Ability to build and maintain strong Vendor relationships. - Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. - Skill in preparing and maintaining procurements records. - Knowledge of JD Edwards, Microsoft Office and Outlook What You'll Get - 401(k) with company match (Traditional & Roth) - Paid Holidays and PTO - Medical, Dental, and Vision - Flexible Spending Accounts - Health Savings Account - Accident Insurance - Hospital Indemnity Insurance - Critical Illness Insurance - LifeLock Identity Theft Protection - Employee Discounts - Short-Term & Long-Term Disability For more benefit details click here! | |
