The Payoff Release Department ensures that mortgage lien are accurately and timely released once a loan is paid in full, in accordance with state-specific requirements and regulatory standards. The team manages exceptions, title defects, and non-standard payoff scenarios to protect lien integrity and reduce legal, financial, and compliance risk.

Position Requirements:

Up to one year of relevant experience or exposure to office or clerical duties in financial services or real estate; loan servicing, payoff processing, lien releases, or title-related work preferred and a plus.

Additional requirements include:



  • have ability to multi-task, working on different tasks and projects
  • Have excellent time management skills.
  • Be very detail-oriented.
  • Have proficiency in Microsoft Office suite


Job duties will include:



  • Execute and oversee end-to-end payoff and lien release processing, ensuring releases are prepared, reviewed, and submitted in accordance with state and investor requirements
  • Independently research, analyze, and resolve lien release and title issues, including non-standard or escalated cases
  • Partner with external vendors, title companies, and recording jurisdictions to resolve defects, re-recordings, and rejected releases
  • Update tracking systems, databases, and spreadsheets
  • Assist leadership with training, cross-training, and knowledge transfer
  • Perform additional duties as assigned in support of departmental objectives and regulatory obligations
