Position Mission:

Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will be the top finance and strategic business development role for Bagel Brands. Bagel Brands is a multi-branded and multi-channel business that includes Einstein Bros. Bagels, Bruegger's Bagels, Noah's New York Bagels, and Manhattan Bagel Company spanning multiple channels including retail operations, franchising, licensing, and wholesale/consumer packaged goods, including manufacturing. Along with being the company's primary source of financial leadership, the CFO will be responsible for the strategic growth and development of the company. He/she will be in charge of managing accounting, financial analysis, reporting, tax, and treasury, and providing accuracy, timeliness, and transparency.

This individual leads a team of accounting and finance professionals bringing relevant and insightful analysis along with recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team to ensure high quality data and information is used in decision making to drive value creation at acceptable levels of risk.

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:

  • Partner with CEO and Executive Leadership Team to:
    • Develop and execute long range strategic plans,
    • Establish revenue, profit and investment return goals and monitor performance against those goals,
    • Provider of transparency into cause of performance, visibility into business's financial trajectory, and initiative to improve performance across the business,
    • Provide continuous review of cost structure, cash position, and covenants, and
    • Steward capital allocation process.
  • Sponsor of strategic development opportunities, and
  • Financial representative of the Bagel Brands to its Board of Directors, Investors, and Lenders
  • Lead the Bagel Brands in
    • Financial planning and performance management relative to plans,
    • Accounting for the business in a timely, accurate and transparent manner,
    • Weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting to all stakeholders in the Company including the CEO, Executive Leadership Team, Functional Departments, Board of Directors, and Investors, and
    • Management of investors and other financial constituents on all matters related to finance, accounting, audits, valuations, credit arrangements including the preparation of materials for monthly/quarterly/annual meetings.

Education/Training/Experience:

Required:

  • Experience in restaurants or relevant/similar retail and hospitality companies. CPG experience is a plus, but not transitioning out of that industry for the first time.
  • Experience in companies of similar size and complexity.
  • Experience with financing/refinancing
  • M&A experience valuable.
  • Bachelor's in business, accounting, economics finance or other related field of study,
  • 15+ years of progressive, applicable work experience, including full financial statement responsibilities including forecasting, planning and analysis; understanding of all the levers of the business to drive increased profitability and value creation, and
  • Prior experience working with and providing information to various oversight committees, including audit committees and boards of directors.

Highly Preferred:

  • MBA
  • Experience in Restaurant industry

Compensation Range:

$289,300.00 - $610,800.00 per year

*Starting pay is subject to Local and State Minimum Wage regulations.

**Ranges reflect what employer reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for such position.

The physical demands for this position are reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, sitting, standing, for 4 to 8 hours, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours. These physical demands may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.
