The role - what you'll do Barr is seeking an events coordinator to join our Minneapolis, Minnesota, team. In this hybrid role, you will support companysponsored internal events that enhance employee engagement and connection across all office locations. You will help design, plan, and deliver consistent, highquality experiences for employees at gatherings such as company celebrations, training weeks, business unity and subunit meetings, and engagementfocused initiatives. They enjoy collaborating across teams, have a strong clientservice mindset, and bring a mix of independent ownership and teamwork to their tasks. Your impact - key responsibilities
Internal events strategy and execution: lead and support the planning, organizing, and scheduling of key companysponsored internal events, including Minneapolis holiday and summer parties, ESOP Day, and Founders Day. Crossoffice collaboration: partner with teams outside Minneapolis to help ensure highquality, engaging experiences at events occurring across Barr's office locations. Training week engagement: collaborate with business unit leadership to enhance employee engagement during training weeks. Inclusive event practices: work with the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee to incorporate belongingfocused actions into events. Event bestpractice development: develop and maintain event guidance, tools, and templates. Support for internal meetings: improve engagement and attendee experience across key meetings. Employee engagement initiatives: coordinate with staff, leaders, and executives to identify engagement opportunities. Internal storytelling: partner with Internal Communications to promote events. Retiree and alumni connections: develop and administer practices supporting engagement. Coordinate and distribute service awards for employee anniversaries. Manage, administer, and coordinate service award program. Support Barr's Minneapolis office as office coordinator:
Coordinate with facilities on the use of space and resources regarding events, vendors, reservations of common space, and office moves. Assist the COO and business support group leaders in planning and supporting programs in the office. Meeting coordination for office events. Support and encourage cross-office and business unit integration. Delegate tasks for staffing engagement in office activities. Coordinate preparation of annual office reports. Coordinate externally focused company events in cooperation with Corporate Business Development. Coordinate local corporate donations in cooperation with Corporate Giving.
Budget management: manage and optimize the annual event budget.
About the opportunity
Hybrid: A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is based out of Barr's Minneapolis, Minnesota, office. Travel expectation: up to 10% occasional travel. Work environment: none required beyond a standard office.
About you - required core competencies
Education: bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Experience: minimum of three years' related experience in a full-cycle company events coordination role. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrated experience successfully collaborating effectively and building relationships. Proven clientservice orientation in a professional setting. Intermediate Microsoft Office knowledge, including SharePoint and OneDrive. Proven experience independently coordinating and organizing small to large-scale company events. Experience successfully managing an events budget within established parameters. Flexibility in working style. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship by Barr, now or in the future.
Helpful additional experience (not required)
4+ years of experience in an events coordinator role. Experience with Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion programs. Experience developing an events coordinator program within an organization. Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) systems.
Compensation: Anticipated range of $28.00-$32.00 hourly. Compensation will vary based on relevant experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors. Employees in this position may also be eligible for a discretionary cash bonus based on team and individual performance.
