Wage: $22.00/hr Labor Grade: 5.5 Shift: Mon - Th 6am - 4pm Temp 5 The primary function of the Roll-Coat Operator is to operate the roll-coater machine in a manner that production high quality products. Essential Job Responsibilities: Mixes paint and adjusts viscosities to attain proper consistencies for production. Tests for application rates and adjusts set-ups to accomplish desired paint thickness and density. Inspects painted rejects and quality returns. Takes steps to pinpoint and correct problems to prevent reoccurrence. Maintains equipment and work area in a manner that ensures continued quality production. May help in other production areas, as necessary, to meet production schedules or balance workload. Maintains compliance with EPA and PCA in all material handling, use, and storage as related to the process. Notifies appropriate individuals in event of a hazardous or potentially hazardous situation. Uses proper operating and preventative maintenance procedures to prevent damage to equipment. Handles solvents, paints, oils, and waste materials requiring the use of impervious gloves, splash goggles, and a NIOSH respirator. Maintains inventory and storage of standard paints. Effectively directs helper. Communicates with the Line Scheduler and the Scheduling Department to minimize set-ups. Completes all documentation on a daily basis. Performs duties in accordance with the Business Process Documentation. Participates in Viracon's Continuous Improvement efforts by understanding his/her teams performance and actively implementing and supporting process improvements. Additional Job Responsibilities: May perform reasonably similar or related duties as instructed. Maintains an effective working relationship with all department employees. Maintains a neat and orderly work area at the end of the workday. Performs duties in a safe manner, using all approved safety equipment as instructed. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent GED preferred but not required. Ability to pass the Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Color Test. Ability to read and understand work instructions (English). Mathematical skills as related to measurements. Familiar with operating power tools. Ability to take supervision. Ability to communicate effectively and work as a team member. Must be able to safely perform essential job responsibilities. Regular full-time attendance.
