Summary:

The MWRA MIS Department is seeking a Desktop Technical Support Intern to work on the Authorities Desktop, Laptop, and Mobile devices. As part of a team, the Intern will provide software, and hardware upgrades and support on end user equipment. This will include applying Security, OS patches, application updates and inventory record controls on equipment being serviced. Works under the supervision of the Program Manager, MIS Operations.

Posting Period: 2/6/2026 to 2/20/2026
Location: Chelsea, MA
Salary: $19 - $22 per hour
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:00pm

Key Responsibilities



  • Participates in the Laptop Validation Project.
  • Configures, tests and installs microcomputer hardware, software, and peripheral products for the MWRA.
  • Investigates, diagnoses, tests and resolves a wide variety of microcomputer hardware, peripheral device and software problems reported by users through the Helpline or other sources.
  • Participates on microcomputer hardware, software, or peripheral device project teams to assist MWRA users with introduction to new or modified microcomputer environments.
  • Utilizes the MWRA tracking system, Maximo, for workorders and inventory updates.



Required Qualifications



  • College Information Technology or Computer Science major
  • Proficiency with MS Windows and MS Office Products
  • Understanding of security and OS patching
  • Ability to work independently
  • Good communication skills required
  • Internship duration: May-September
