Fuss & O'Neill is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to play a key technical and leadership role within our growing bridge practice in Woburn, MA. This position offers the opportunity to lead complex bridge design and rehabilitation projects, contribute technical expertise across a wide range of structural challenges, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on high-profile transportation initiatives. Key Responsibilities Serve as a technical lead for the planning, design, analysis, rehabilitation, and inspection of highway and pedestrian bridges Prepare and oversee development of bridge design plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports Perform and/or review structural analyses, load ratings, and design calculations in accordance with AASHTO and state DOT standards Lead and mentor junior engineers and support staff, fostering technical excellence and professional development Coordinate with clients, DOTs, municipalities, and multidisciplinary project teams Participate in bridge inspections and condition evaluations as required Support project management activities including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and quality control Contribute to business development efforts including proposals, client relationships, and technical presentations Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering Professional Engineer (PE) license in ME, NH, or VT (or ability to acquire within 6 months) 8+ years of bridge engineering and structural design experience Strong knowledge of AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications (preferred) Experience with state DOT bridge programs and standards Proficiency with bridge design and analysis software Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to lead technical tasks and collaborate across disciplines Experience with bridge rehabilitation and inspection programs (preferred) Prior project management or task leadership experience (preferred) This is a hybrid role, offering the best of both worlds-collaborate in-office with a high-performing team and enjoy the flexibility of working remotely part of the week.
