JOB OVERVIEW:

This position oversees, manages, and analyzes all merchandise requirements to ensure fulfillment at distribution centers. Reviews the assigned complex mix to ensure accurate forecasting, proper order placement, and compliance with all terms and agreements. Manages higher demand variability and seasonal lines. Excellent collaboration with marketing and supplier partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage complex import vendors with high lead times, high forecasting, and container requirements.
  • Determine appropriate product quantities to purchase while keeping inventory replenishment at sufficient levels.
  • Negotiate special buying agreements to get additional discounts to increase profit margin.
  • Maintain low levels of underperforming inventory through regular review of stock levels and forecasts. Work with Marketing and customer sales teams to recommend disposition of discontinued and slow moving products.
  • Contact vendor for information on products, status of product availability for backorders, and suggested substitutions.
  • Form and maintain favorable relationships with vendors and sales to maximize profitability.
  • Proactively study merchant sales plans and evaluate sales history to develop inventory forecasts.
  • Monitor and adjust the purchasing system for demand/lead time irregularities. Review system-generated suggested order quantities and projections (add value to the information generated by the system in a proactive manner).
  • Negotiate discounts with volume buying from our suppliers.
  • Meet with vendors to stay informed of product specifications and to obtain information on discontinued items.

  • Broad knowledge of the SKU optimization process
  • WCS (internal candidates only)
  • Ability to use Microsoft applications such as Excel and Teams.
  • Ability to manage KPI's.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Typically, 4 or more years of increasing responsibility in terms of any applicable professional experience.

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree or global equivalent in a related discipline. E3 Level 4 certification required.

The posted range for this position is $70,440-$96,885, which is the expected starting base salary range for an employee who is new to the role to fully proficient in the role. Many factors go into determining employee pay within the posted range including prior experience, current skills, location/labor market, internal equity, etc.

This position is eligible for a bonus not reflected in the posted range.
