Core Responsibilities
- Instruct employees in driver training programs, including safe work practices, procedures, and operation of company vehicles and lifting equipment.
- Train and prepare personnel for CDL licensing and other required vehicle/equipment qualifications (step van, forklift, etc.).
- Develop, update, and maintain training curriculum, instructor guides, student materials, tests, eLearning, and digital media (including AR/VR and video content).
- Deliver training both onsite and in the field; adapt to changing operational demands, including ad hoc, off hour, and off-site sessions.
- Evaluate trainee performance for qualifications, promotions, and advancement; provide coaching and career development support.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert for driving, fleet operations, equipment, safety practices, and new initiatives.
- Coordinate with operating organizations to align training with field needs, technology changes, and lessons learned.
- Support training effectiveness efforts, including purposeful field visits, post training follow ups, and participation in Training Effectiveness Committees (TEC).
- Maintain accurate training records in the LMS/eTrain systems and generate reports as needed.
- Mentor and support the development of new and existing instructors; participate in instructor development programs (e.g., LLEAP).
- Assist with cross-functional initiatives and project teams; cross train in related disciplines such as EH\&S, CPR/FA, and Emergency Response Refreshers.
- Maintain training materials, equipment inventories, and assigned classroom/lab spaces to meet compliance standards.
- Provide technical expertise and emergency support to line organizations when required.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement of training programs, processes, and technologies across the TLC organization.
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant work experience in area of expertise Relevant experience includes working in trucking industry, maintaining CDL vehicles and fleets, training employees on how to operate vehicles or
- Associate's Degree and 4 years of relevant work experience in area of expertise Relevant experience includes working in trucking industry, maintaining CDL vehicles and fleets, training employees on how to operate vehicles or
- High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of relevant work experience in area of expertise Relevant experience includes working in trucking industry, maintaining CDL vehicles and fleets, training employees on how to operate vehicles.
Relevant Work Experience
- Must be knowledgeable in Corporate Environmental and Safety Procedures, required.
- Must possess a CDL license with zero points (endorsements preferred), required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience driving CDL type vehicles & lifting equipment, required.
- Must be able to handle extensive standing, bending and climbing, required.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills, required.
- Must have strong presentation skills and the ability to facilitate group activities/training, required.
- Demonstrated professional demeanor, confidence dealing with all levels of management/union personnel, required.
- Working knowledge Microsoft Office, required.
- The ability to promote a positive work ethic in support of our Corporate Values, required.
- The ability to use backhoes, forklifts, boom truck, etc, preferred.
- Crane License, preferred.
- Experience with eTrain and TLC Portal, preferred.
- Experience with EH&S, preferred.

Physical Demands
- Ability to respond to system emergencies
- Able to work in all weather conditions, i.e. excessive heat and/or cold
- Perform extended driving through heavy traffic and severe off-road conditions
- Perform heavy manual labor, i.e. push, pull, and lift up to 50lbs
- Work in, under, and on top of all types of company vehicles and/or equipment
- Ability to work in adverse conditions that include, noise, confined spaces, and high elevations
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs
- Stand, walk, and climb ladders and stairs for the duration of the workday
- Stand, walk, lift, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and/or reach for the duration of the workday
- Wear necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), i.e. fire-retardant clothing and safety harnesses
Additional Physical Demands
- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
