Your Opportunity + Impact
The Senior Architect - Education Projects provides design leadership and technical expertise for education (K12) from concept through construction. The Senior Architect leads teams, partners closely with clients and developers, and ensures project deliverables meet design intent, operational needs, schedules, and quality standards. This position plays a key role in transforming client vision into functional, high-performing spaces that support business success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and architectural design of education (K12)projects, demonstrating advanced design expertise and the ability to manage technically complex and schedule-driven work.
- Review and refine work produced by project team members to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand standards, prototype requirements, and project objectives.
- Prepare and oversee the development of detailed construction documents with a strong focus on constructability, coordination, and efficient delivery.
- Apply expert knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, accessibility requirements, and local jurisdictional standards to resolve design challenges and ensure compliance.
- Collaborate closely with internal disciplines, consultants, developers, and contractors to promote effective communication and coordination throughout all phases of project delivery.
- Conduct final Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) reviews to ensure deliverables meet quality standards, client requirements, and schedule expectations prior to release.
- Support project managers and leadership in proposal development, scope definition, budgeting, and labor-hour estimating, providing technical insight aligned with commercial project delivery models.
- Partner directly with clients, retailers, and developers to define, communicate, and refine project scope, translating brand vision and operational needs into successful design solutions.
- Mentor and guide architectural staff, fostering professional growth, technical excellence, and continuous improvement within the team.
Education and Experience
- Education: Bachelor of Architecture (5-year program) or Master of Architecture (6-year program) from a NAAB-accredited institution is required.
- Experience: Minimum of twelve (12) years of job-related experience.
- Licensure/Certification: Registered Architect (RA) with NCARB certification required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong leadership skills that promote collaboration and project success.
- Advanced understanding in Revit, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Sketch-Up, Photoshop, and other related software programs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines effectively.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.
- Strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and other external sources.
