Job Description:

The Property Tax Managing Director within our State & Local Tax Consulting team will play a critical leadership role in transforming and scaling the firm's Property Tax practice. The role is designed for a senior leader who thrives in driving operational change, enabling scalable growth, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients and firm leadership.

This position emphasizes strategic leadership, innovation, and practice growth rather than day-to-day compliance execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the transformation of the Property Tax practice by modernizing service delivery through technology enablement, automation, and standardized processes
  • Design and execute a comprehensive operating model to eliminate manual processes, improve data management, and enhance efficiency, scalability, and gross margins
  • Provide strategic oversight to ensure consistent, high-quality, timely, and accurate Property Tax compliance and consulting services across U.S. and India delivery teams
  • Serve as a catalyst for change by introducing leading practices in technology-enabled Property Tax compliance and real estate appeal services
  • Enable scalable growth by optimizing the global delivery model and improving resource utilization without proportional increases in headcount
  • Act as a senior technical and strategic advisor on complex Property Tax compliance and consulting matters, with emphasis on improving service delivery rather than managing day-to-day filings
  • Collaborate closely with Tax and firm leadership to align Property Tax operations with broader business objectives, growth strategies, and the firm's technology-enabled delivery model
  • Monitor Property Tax legislative and regulatory developments and ensure timely, efficient incorporation into standardized processes and enabling technologies
  • Lead business development efforts by identifying and converting new property tax opportunities and expanding services within existing and prospective client relationships
  • Lead proposals, pricing, and client presentations while collaborating with firm leadership on go-to-market strategies and overall growth of the property tax practice

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required, Accounting, Finance, preferred
  • Relevant professional certification required (CPA, JD, LLM, CMI, State Assessor, etc.)
  • Significant experience leading the transformation of Property Tax compliance and consulting operations
  • Proven success implementing technology solutions, automation, and standardized workflows to reduce manual effort and improve efficiency and margins
  • Strong understanding of Property Tax compliance, including renditions, compliance calendars, data management, and assessment-related processes
  • Experience redesigning BPP and Real Estate Property Tax service models to support growth and increased complexity
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain trusted client relationships and support market-facing activities, including expanding existing accounts
  • Experience leading and influencing geographically distributed teams, including offshore delivery models, with a focus on change management and process adoption
  • Deep technical knowledge of state and local property tax laws and procedures, including business personal property, real property, exemptions and appeals
  • Technology-enabled service delivery and operational transformation
  • Process optimization and workflow redesign
  • Global delivery model leadership (U.S. / India)
  • Strong leadership presence with the ability to mentor, guide, and influence teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical and operational concepts into clear, actionable guidance
  • Experience using PTMS software preferred
