The Section Leader Transportation Strategy and Planning oversees the APS Transportation Strategy and Planning department in forecasting the Company's transportation needs by developing and maintaining a long-range forecast, fleet standards and operating metrics, and by evaluating emerging technologies in the industry. Major Accountabilities
1) Manages day-to-day activities by providing leadership and direction to team members in the Transportation Strategy and Planning department.Lead and mentor staff by coaching employees, communicating feedback on performance, providing appropriate training, developing new practices, improving productivity and processes to achieve continuous improvement objectives. 2) Develops annual transportation vehicle and equipment long-range forecast and replacement cycles. 3) Supervises the development and maintenance of the fleet standards that will be used during the procurement process for Company vehicles and equipment.Ensures transportation standards are safe, appropriate and cost effective.Interfaces with internal customers to ensure the fleet standards align with business needs and cost constraints. 4) Directs operational aspects of the equipment management information systems to develop fleet replacement cycles and internal customer budget reports to ensure alignment and visibility into fleet cost drivers. 5) Develops and maintains fleet operational metrics to provide transparency into fleet performance.Creates and maintains fleet service level agreements and interfaces with senior management to ensure fleet costs are aligned with service level expectations.Performs industry benchmarking (i.e., performance, financial, cost and service level) to determine best in class; assists Transportation in the development of internal and external reporting. 6) Partners with business units and other Transportation departments to optimize processes and support department-wide process improvements. 7) Manages department expenditure, budgets and resources.Provides leadership to ensure department safety, environmental and regulatory activities are completed. 8) Manages operations of outside Travel Agency to assure the Corporate travel needs are met according to company policy. Hybrid: Employees in hybrid roles work both in their home offices (virtually) and alongside their colleagues (in person). In order for employees to build strong relationships and to promote meaningful in-person interactions, hybrid employees are expected to work about 40% of their time in-person at an APS or other (non-home office) location.
