Overview

Due to continued growth, our Power Delivery group is seeking to hire several Mid-Senior Level Transmission Line Engineer(s). Take the lead on cutting-edge projects, designing high-voltage transmission lines (69 kV to 765 kV), collaborating with clients and vendors to craft innovative solutions, and ensuring seamless project execution. This position is a hybrid position with office and work-from-home availability each week, after the first 90 days of employment.This opportunity can be based in one of the following offices:

  • Spring, TX (Suburb of Houston)
  • Dallas, TX
  • Ft Worth, TX

Responsibilities

A typical day as a Transmission Line Engineer is filled with innovation and collaboration-whether you're working with clients to shape advanced designs, optimizing routes and materials for maximum efficiency, or using PLS-CADD to create precise models that bring your vision to life. You'll lead dynamic teams, explore new solutions with vendors, and provide invaluable support during construction, ensuring project success from start to finish.

  • Transmission Line Design: Design transmission lines from 69 kV to 765 kV. Utilize PLS-CADD to develop, review and check transmission line models, conductor sags, plan, and profile drawings, and verify right of way requirements

  • Collaboration & Strategy: Strategize and meet with peers and clients to determine specific project needs and requirements such as conductor selection, pole utilization, and route optimization. Work with vendors to identify potential materials, equipment, and new design solutions to solve dynamic client requirements

  • Team Coordination & Project Deliverables: Coordinate small design teams as needed to prepare scoping documents, design criteria, and project deliverables

  • Client Support & Construction Assistance: Provide clients with engineering assistance during construction, and be available to attend construction meetings, coordination efforts, and community outreach as needed

  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other duties as required #LI-MB1


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • EIT Certification preferred
  • Typically requires 3 years' experience specifically with transmission line design
  • Solid knowledge of PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and foundation design software such as MFAD, L-Pile or similar
  • Familiarity and working knowledge of appropriate design techniques, tools, and software involved in the production of project deliverables including plan and profile drawings, structure utilization reports, and material coordination
  • Solid knowledge of NESC, IEEE, ASCE 7 and AISC
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required

When salary range is listed it reflects typical compensation for this role based on level and location. Actual pay depends on experience, skills, and education.
